A human-sized sewing needle fails in its inability to sew into the concrete floor and remains in this motion. In this state, it can neither correct nor produce - it can no longer fulfil its actual function - and the work was conceived for the exhibition venue, a hospital bunker from the Second World War. The needle thus refers to textile sewing, the production of clothing, but also to the sewing of skin, the dressing of wounds. However, the needle as a tool cannot heal or produce without damaging the fabric or the skin itself, leaving behind stitches or scars, and the nature and history of the bunker causes the needle to fail in its task. The reflective surface of the needle absorbs the surrounding space and at the same time repels it again through the smooth materiality of the aluminium.
